A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Palmer has resided in Southern California since 1973. He graduated with honors from San Diego State University and received his M.D. degree from the University of California Irvine School of Medicine. Major emphasis was placed on Facial Plastic Surgery during his five-year residency in Head and Neck Surgery at USC-LA County Medical Center (one of the largest medical teaching institutions in the world). Following board certification, Dr. Palmer completed a one-year fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and is board certified with the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Palmer also completed a one-year fellowship with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is board eligible with the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Palmer is the past Director of Facial Plastic Surgery for the Head and Neck Surgery Department at a major teaching institution in Southern California. As an artist in watercolor, oil and acrylic mediums whose style can best be described as photorealism, he considers himself a modern day soft tissue sculptor, adding his artistic flair to every aspect of his surgery. “Plastic surgery is artistry,” says Dr. Palmer, author of a new book What’s Your Number ...
